Many community redevelopment areas are Dependent Special Districts that must now evaluate their land for use for affordable housing according to the Live Local Act. However, Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRAs) have long been involved in housing development, recognizing the economic benefits and as one strategy to help prevent displacement as their efforts succeed. This workshop showcases the work of CRAs throughout the state in affordable housing development within redevelopment areas, including financial incentives and partnerships for permanent affordability.
