Low Income Housing Tax Credits, recognized as LIHTC or “The Housing Credit” program, is an essential component of affordable housing development and preservation of existing units.  In Florida, LIHTC is the largest source of funding for rental development in the state, with a total 2023 Competitive Housing Credit allocation of $57.5 million.  If you are interested in understanding how Florida’s Housing Credit program works, this session will offer a comprehensive overview including sources and uses, partnerships with nonprofits and important elements to creating a joint venture. Panelists will share their knowledge from the application through credit underwriting, construction, and stabilization.   Hear from successful tax credit developers, real estate attorneys, and advisors in this session to learn from their own experiences with the Housing Tax Credit program.
